How can I troubleshoot an inbound CSV Synchronization error?

Hi,

I've spent a few days using FIM and going over the Technet tutorials:

Introduction to Inbound Synchronization
Introduction to Outbound Synchronization

How do I provision users to AD DS (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff686263(v=ws.10).aspx )

I've successfully completed all 3 scenarios. I have a new test lab which I have configured for provisioning to AD. My end goal is to provision users from CSV to fim, then to AD DS.

I configured my lab to provision users to AD DS (worked fine), I've left the configuration for AD provisioning in place (i.e. fim service management agent, sync rules, run profiles, sets, workflows and management policy rules). This all works fine, if I change a user in the fim portal, I can update the corresponding AD user with the appropriate run profile.

I'm having trouble bringing users into FIM via CSV. Following the guide "Introduction to Inbound Synchronization", everything up to "To synchronize the scenario user inside the FIM Synchronization Service" works. As soon as I go to do an export to project the user from my CSV I simply get 0 for all export statistics.

What am I doing wrong? Should I just have 1 fim service MA?
